Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday met with national ethical role models and nomination awards winners in Beijing.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, attaches great importance to the cultivation of morality and ethics throughout society, and has in many occasions expressed his opinions and expectations on the matter.

The following are some of his notable remarks in this regard:
