A young Chinese woman who is almost completely paralyzed, has persisted in writing on a computer with her nose and has finished two novels over the past years.
Wang Manling, from east China's Anhui Province, is wheelchair-bound and unable to speak or move autonomously.
Her parents often took her to see doctors and do rehabilitation exercises when she was young.
Living with her grandma at that time, she learned about the world outside her mountainous hometown from reading books, but rarely saw it with her own eyes.
She was eager to study at school and cried whenever she watched her sister going to school on foot, since she could not join.
Wang's mother taught her Chinese pinyin and how to use a dictionary. After that, she was able to look up all the unfamiliar words she was confronted with when she watched TV.
In order to provide Wang with a better life, her parents took her to eastern Chinese city of Ningbo when she was 15.
Her father bought her a computer and a neighbor sent her a used smart phone as gift.
Both tools opened Wang's gateway to communications with the outside world.
"She always surfs the internet on her phone and has made friends online. We often receive gifts from her online friends," her mother said.
Wang practiced typing with her tip of nose. After numerous failures, she finally succeeded in typing words on the computer.
Wang said she likes to read campus love stories and made it her ambition to create stories by herself.
She regarded novel creation as a window to communicate with the others and told them her inner world through the roles and characters.
She created a Cinderella role that has cerebral palsy like her in the first novel.
By telling the love story, she expressed her own wish of meeting Mr. Right.
With the help of public-spirited people, she undertook her dream trip to Beijing this March.
She visited Beijing's famous scenic spots including the hutongs and the Great Wall.
"My days in Beijing impressed me deeply and greatly enlightened me in creation," she recalled.
Now Wang is preparing to write her third novel.
