Panjin, a scenic city located at the mouth of the Liaohe River in the northeastern Liaoning Province, was accredited by the Ramsar Convention as an international wetland city.
Boasting scenic "red beaches" and a healthy wetland ecosystem, the coastal city is also an important transit location and destination for migratory birds of the East Asian-Australasia flyway.
Panjin has nearly 1,100 square km of nature reserves and important wetlands in the ecological protection red line over the past two decades, restoring 85,900 mu of wetlands and 15.77 km of the natural coastline.
In all seasons, the city's breathtaking scenery and unique wetland ecosystem make it a popular tourist destination.
