The Xiong'an New Area in Hebei Province is home to Baiyangdian Lake, an important wetland ecosystem in northern China. The area has seen strenuous efforts in water conservation, and significant improvement in water quality over the past decade.

Now local authorities are adopting the latest environmental protection technologies.

Now the Xiong'an New Area has set up 24 water quality monitoring stations throughout the Baiyangdian Lake area to monitor water quality around the clock.
