Rural vitalization is in full swing throughout China after the country eradicated absolute poverty. More talents from urban areas are going back to the countryside to bring new vitality to China's rural development.

Yuexi County of east China's Anhui Province launched a campaign in July, recruiting 100 talents with doctorate degrees to assist 100 villages for one year.

Li Xingguo, a 58-year-old senior geological engineer, signed up immediately when he saw the recruitment. He was appointed as honorary village director of Henan Village.

With professional skills and novel ideas of management, he is helping the village develop mineral water resources and seek investment in tourism.

Different from Li who was recruited by the government, former journalist and director Zhang Zhengang came to Huangshan in Anhui on his own to conduct his rural vitalization trial.

Over the past decade, Zhang has helped local people of Shiji Village of Yansi Town design and rebuild their houses and communities in an environmentally-friendly way.
