A commentary by China Central Television (CCTV) and broadcast nationwide says Hong Kong and its residents have had enough of the riots and violence.
Titled "Listen to what Hong Kong People have to say", the commentary says more and more residents in Hong Kong have realized that certain people just wish violence in the region to continue, and the last thing they want to see is a prosperous Hong Kong and a strong China. Now Hong Kong residents have stood out to have their voices heard. Their voices represent the mainstream will of the society of Hong Kong.
The commentary says the riots that have disrupted Hong Kong are losing the support of the people, and more and more Hong Kong residents are urging an end to all the illegal activities, including bullying, vandalism and riots. They also call for all Hong Kong issues to be resolved through legal means and for all sectors in Hong Kong to be rational and united.
No civilized society tolerates extreme violence, and the rioters must pay the due price for what they did, concludes the commentary.
