The guqin, the "ancient zither," is a plucked seven-stringed Chinese musical instrument within the zither family.

Chinese legend says the guqin has a history of some 5,000 years, making it the oldest known instrument in China.

Guqin music was added to the 'Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity' by UNESCO in 2003.

Wang Shuxin teaches the guqin at Dongli Academy, a traditional Chinese culture school in Beijing.
