Gouji is a poker game originally from Qingdao. Locals jokingly call it one of the three major sports of Qingdao people: beer, clams and Gouji. Qingdao Licang Park is the birthplace of Gouji. Since the 1960s, many card players gather in the park every day. Baker, a foreign student, is interested in the game and follows a local friend to Licang Park to explore Gouji.
