Experts on UN affairs have said that the restoration of the People's Republic of China's lawful seat in the UN in 1971 was a milestone that injected momentum into propelling global development.

Iftikhar Ali, a veteran Pakistani reporter, said the restoration tipped the scale for the international landscape and benefited people in developing countries.
