A VR-guided surgery system has been put into use at the First Hospital of Lanzhou University in Lanzhou, China.

Wearing holographic goggles, a surgeon can see a 3D graphic of the human body, which can help pinpoint precise locations of diseases or abnormalities.

The system is based on a combination of technologies such as CT scanning and magnetic resonance imagery (MRI).
