Brett Lyndall Singh from South Africa is what people call a “slashie”. As a medical practitioner and overseas ambassador of Wenzhou City, Brett fought alongside with Chinese medical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, and helped countless patients every day at the frontline. He worked with his friends in building an online mutual medical assistance platform, which answers questions for those in need. Brett took advantage of being an Internet influencer and made a series of short videos on epidemic prevention and control, which showed China’s efforts against the epidemic to the world on his foreign social media accounts. With his personal experiences, he showed a real China to the international community.
Regardless of border or race, Brett has decided to dedicate himself to the medical career at the moment he became a medical student. Meanwhile, he will continue to serve as a bridge linking China and South Africa, contributing to the friendship between the two sides.
