The relations between Pakistan and China have been developing vigorously since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1951 and set an example for other countries in the world, Pakistani President Arif Alvi said.

In a recent interview with Xinhua, the president said the bond between his country and China is very unique.

"Relationships between countries are generally today based more on vested interests. But the relationship between Pakistan and China is based on friendship, morality and caring for our people," Alvi said.

"Higher than mountains, deeper than oceans and sweeter than honey" is the phrase frequently used in Pakistan to describe the all-weather friendship between the two countries, which is "a very apt description of the last 70 years," he said.
