Today is the last day of this year's Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference, in Boao, South China's Hainan province.

This year's event is being held both online and in-person. Official statistics show that more than 4,000 people registered in-person for the conference. According to BFA Secretary General Li Baodong, "it is an unprecedented scale, and is the world's largest in-person conference so far this year."

The BFA was founded in 2001 and this year marks the 20th anniversary of its founding. It is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals.

Confronted with another global crisis inflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the relevance of the Boao Forum is more pronounced than ever.
