The village of Jinmi in Zhashui County, Shaanxi Province started developing its edible fungi industry in 2018. The fungi became known nationwide after President Xi Jinping inspected the village and praised the products in April 2020. Throughout 2020, the village had sold around 60,000 kg of fungi, generating 4 million yuan of revenue through both offline and online marketing. In the spring of 2021, the village has planted 3.2 million packages of fungi. Now, the village has developed three major planting methods in its 132 fungi greenhouses plus four intelligent ones. The fungi industry has lifted the entire village out of poverty for better lives.

Villager Wang Jidong started planting fungi in 2019. That year, he sold a total of 80,000 packages and earned himself over 50,000 yuan, much higher than his income as a migrant worker before.
