Liu Zhanhong, a folk artist in Xishi village in Yuanqu county, Shanxi province, recently created a collection of artistic paper-cuttings to salute to the medical workers around China who are fighting the COVID-19 epidemic.

Liu, 50, showed great interest in paper-cutting in his childhood and began learning the skill from his grandmother 40 years ago.

"I hope to show my respect to the heroes through my paper-cutting," he said. "I believe we can finally overcome the epidemic and welcome the spring soon."
