A female tour guide in Ningbo, east China’s Zhejiang Province, has aided Tibetan tourism in English three times since she became a tour guide, with the last trip on April 14.
Liu Lixin, born in 1993, is the first female tour guide in Ningbo for southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region.
At noon on April 14, Liu embarked on a flight from Ningbo to Chengdu, southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
As the only tour guide from Zhejiang, she met with other tour guides from different part of China and started her third Tibet tour.
The relevant ministries and commissions will select excellent tour guides across China and send them to Tibet from April 15 to October 15 every year to help the local development of tourism.
Over the past few years, Ningbo has assigned many outstanding guides to Tibet.
Liu looks ordinary on appearance, but has already become a senior guide.
During her two years of aiding Tibet, with her enthusiastic English explanations, she has received many tourists from the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, and other countries.
Meanwhile, a lot unforgettable experiences with tourists have also been imprinted on her mind.
"The Aid in Tibet has helped me reap warmth and kindness from people of different ethnic groups and made me realize the happiness of making friends with tourists. It also accompanied me when I grew from being green to mature," Liu said.
"I can feel no loneliness or fear as I might have done before on this tour. The only thing that I want to do is to convey the enthusiasm and professionalism of Ningbo tour guides to all parts of the world, so as to support my family and satisfy the country," she added.
The tour guides working in Tibet have a period of rest time after the end of the tourist season every year.
Liu, however, didn’t rest for a while and has continued to receive tourist groups, with little time to even go home to visit her parents.
Due to her outstanding work performance, the Ningbo Commission for Tourism Development and the Ningbo Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League awarded her the certificates and badges of Ningbo Gold Medal Guide and Ningbo Golden-Star Tourism Volunteer.
