A senior public welfare practitioner in Shanghai has selflessly dedicated her efforts to helping sports enthusiasts with disabilities over the past few years.
Yin Hong, 63, is a volunteer and a personal running partner at the local charity named Be Your Eyes.
Yin first took up long-distance running herself in 1999 to keep fit. She noticed visually impaired runners often had assistants jogging alongside them at foreign competitions, which greatly inspired her to offer her help.
Yin, who has a son, said, "Running with a visually impaired person requires as much attention as taking care of a child, meaning you can't leave, walk around at will, or even spare a moment to take pictures."
She would often pick them up by car and carefully prepares breakfast and energy supplies for them.
A visually impaired woman from east China's Jiangsu province has cooperated with Yin in the past. The woman underwent a major operation last year and was feeling down.
Thus, Yin, who used to be a doctor, took the initiative to invite her to live in her own house in an effort to help her rebuild her confidence through communication.
